Greetings wedding lovers (or just Waine lovers?) well whoever you are, thank you for taking the time to visit this blog but I must warn you now, it IS going to be emotional. Not least because the music I have chosen to accompany it makes me want to cry EVERY time I hear it.
So if you don't love the music, OR weddings OR photos you MUST love Daniel and Laa? In which case, you WILL feel emotional. I FEEL EMOTIONAL. It WAS emotional. Get my drift? Good, let's crack on then and hit play!
You don't need me to bang on about what a beautiful bride Laa made and if you know her personally, or even just met her once you would be struck by how beautiful she is.
As a portrait photographer I quite possibly get more excited about her face than most (apart from Daniel of course) but I have been excited about her face since the first time I met her. I believe she also underestimates just how stunning she is, but I guess that only makes her more so (sorry Laa- you are no doubt burying said face in hands right now). TAKE THE COMPLIMENT.
The Waine wedding was one I can quite honestly admit involved A LOT of flying by the seat of one's pants. It was a scorching hot day (almost unbearable) and EVERYONE(including clever Moi all dressed in black) was drowning in their own perspiration!
However, as unattractive as that may sound, the wedding was absolutely beautiful!
The preparations kicked off in the White Hart Hotel in Kingston, just a short walk from St John's church where the ceremony was to take place.
Laa's bridesmaids clearly mean the world to her. They all looked stunning and as you'll see a little bit later on, they not only look good, but they can make good use of a dance floor too.
Here's all the girls (and Laa's Dad) together just before they set off for the church. A perfectly pastel collection of frocks don't you agree?
Whilst the girls were getting on with all things girlie, Daniel hugged people, because this is what he does, he is a genuine huger. Anyone who takes the time to hug people is a good egg in my book. Who doesn't love a good meaningful hug?
Running a tad behind schedule Laa and her bridal party arrived at the church and off down the aisle they went (I want to say skipped but that would be a lie, they walked, sadly no one skips down the aisle). ANYWAY....
The ceremony was so lovely, all my favourite hymn choices were sung and we had a priceless moment from best man Michael who dropped the ring! (Just had to mention that Michael- soz).
After the ceremony it was off to The Warehouse reception venue for some MUCH needed cool refreshments (and more hugging).
The speeches were brilliant, ESPECIALLY the one by Laa's best friend Sarah. (I might have even shed a tear or two).
Lauren and Daniel are so genuinely loved by so many and it's not hard to see why. They simply LOVE everyone and together they are a dream to spend time with. I don't mind mentioning that they also have great taste in food (lovely duck by the way), music and people so it's not difficult to see why they are blessed with so many good friends.
I for one will be looking forward to our next beer/cider in the not so distant future.
"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior..."
Mr and Mrs Waine, thank you so much for allowing us to capture your wedding for you. I think this will be a day I will re-visit often to remind me what it is all about and why I love my job (and flying by the seat of my pants) so flippin' much. Love you two.
